About Mark

Q: How long have you been with ESC?
A: 18 years

Q: What is your role at ESC?
A: Infrastructure Director

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at ESC?
A: My co-workers

Q: Can you share a favorite memory or accomplishment from your time here?
A: The perfectionist in me has a bad habit of zeroing in on the challenging times, but my greatest accomplishment has been working through those times to succeed in the end.

Tech Insights

Q: What’s one practical technology tip you’d give to everyday technology users?
A: Change is inevitable (especially with technology), and it’s only new for a short time.

Q: What’s one common technology opportunity you see many businesses missing?
A: Not enough businesses in our region are taking full advantage of cloud services. By moving your data, workflows and communications into the cloud, you can create live documents that can be accessed from anywhere. It’s a big part of business continuity planning, but it also improves productivity when employees can access documents from their phones or computers no matter where they are.

Beyond the Office

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and how you spend your time outside of work?
A: Some might say I have an uncanny ability to make smart aleck remarks.

I am a creator at heart and have been involved with various art and media projects such as live painting, podcasting, music, and comedy. Recently, I have started exploring the use of AI in creative projects.

When not at work, I enjoy maintaining a freshwater planted aquarium and watching basketball, professional wrestling, and playing NBA 2K on Xbox.

Rapid Fire

Early bird or night owl?
A: A night owl who is rapidly becoming an early bird.

Shrimp or oysters?
A: Shrimp

Favorite New Orleans festival?
A: Oktoberfest, who doesn’t love a good polka from The Bråts

Favorite Saints player of all time?
A: Joe Horn

Favorite “work smarter, not harder” tip?
A: Spell Check

Favorite local spot in New Orleans?
A: The riverside portion of Audubon Park aka “the Fly”. A great place for lunch when the weather is right.
